Cover ugly foundation
kae

Years ago I drove by this house and notice they had covered their foundation with this gravel looking stuff it looked like it had pieces of brown broken glass in it too...it kind of sparkled when the sun hit it. I remember he said it came on a roll and that a place in town carried it. Naturally they are no longer in business. Does anyone know where I could find this product or if they even make it anymore?

Thanks,
Kae

I have never heard of an exposed aggregate applied from a roll.
Can't find any info in my plaster books and i have some dating back to 1890.
But exposed aggregate was used widely and yes glass was used it was popular back in the 30's and 40's.
Also used was Oyster shell of all sizes.
Most aggregates are applied using an hopper operated with air to blow the aggregate in a wet bedding coat of stucco mix.

It almost sounds like roll roofing, but I've never heard of or seen it used as a foundation cover.
