Any of your readers that are about to install a railing (professional or beginner) may be interested in this product called “Spring Bolt”. I found it at Home Depot and did some research on line. This was the first railing I did in about 15 years and it turned out beautifully; better than most professional jobs I have seen recently. I must say that I was a bit hesitant at first because most of the time the “As seen on TV” and home show demos of new product do not live up to their expectations once you get them home. However that was not the case with the Spring Bolt, in fact it exceeded all of my expectations. It was extremely easy to use and much more forgiving then a rail bolt. I was able to line up the profiles exactly. One practices run on a piece of scrap and I was confident to start my railing using the Spring Bolt system. This is an amazing little product.

I'm a stairbuilder and have done hundreds of railings over the years. I must say that the spring-bolt fastening system is quite remarkable! I like it estecially for the componants that usually so hard to match up the profiles like 45 and 90 degree upeasings and "s" curves. No bending the rail bolts, no plugs and a real professional finish! Oh yeah, that's what I am! It really does make it easy enough for even the amatuer. The newel post fasteners are also fantastic! Anyway, check it out! They'll make you look real good!(even to your spouse!) Skip

I would love to see something on how to find leaks and fix them. We had a breezeway enclosed to make a laundry room 10years ago and have dealt with leaks in the one corner since then.

I would also like to see something on how to stack the terracotta flower pots with the metal bar runing through the center to make them look angled on top of each other and to keep it from tumbling over.
