What material to use for what? Are you trying to build a door, repair it, add on to it?

Doors are made of all manner of things, give us more specifics of what you're looking for/trying to do.

Re: hollow core doors

Hello,For interior use you can get away with using pine or fir for framing part. make sure you let it dry out and aclimate to the interior of the house. This will help eliminate some of the twisting and bending of the wood after you build and install the door.Outside finish is entirely up to what you want but key point is the framing. Top and bottom framing of door should be atleast 3-1/2" tall and sides can be only 1-1/2" wide.Center post across the middle to strengthen it up. Depending on the thickness of your finished door you want, using 1x select pine works great doubling it up , gluing and screwing. Hope this makes sense to you. Good Luck!
