I recently purchased a house with a jacuzzi tub, on the home inspection we found that when you press the tub air switch the pump would turn on for about 1-2 seconds and shut off.
I figured the issue was either the air switch or the button. I took the air line off of the button and blew into it with my mouth, the pump remained on while I held pressure on it. I decided the issue might be the diaphragm inside the switch could be leaking - so I ordered a new switch, and I found it does the same thing. I then ordered a new button and hose and it still does the same thing. Any ideas?
If I disconnect the two wires on the switch and put them together the pump comes on and stays on. It’s like the air switch is supposed to stay engaged after it’s pressed but it doesn’t.
One video on YouTube I watched suggested that the air line may have to have some pressure in it to work properly. So I used a small bike pump, I could put pressure on the system and properly engage it, but as soon as I stopped applying pressure with the pump it shuts off.
