New flooring

We live in a house that is built on a cement slab. Our living room carpet is only 10 yrs old & looks terrible and considering a look like wood substitute for it. Is this possible or should we stick with carpet? We have 4 girls and a small dog and want something that will last longer than 10 years. What do you suggest doing?

Re: New flooring

Hey Mlndhl175,
I am Gregg with The Home Depot in Chicago. I would get rid of the carpet and install laminate flooring. New laminate flooring looks great, can be used anywhere in your house, and some companies have up to a 30 year warranty against scratching and fading. It is perfect for kids and pets, which is why I installed it at my house :). I like it a lot and would recommend it. If that’s completely out of the question let me know what else you were considering. –Gregg
