Hi,
I am looking for a safe way to remove the existing granite counter top on my L shaped bottom kitchen cabinets. I wish to reuse this counter top on new base cabinets. Does anyone have any suggestions.
I see the seams where two pieces where joined together, but I am clueless on how to separate them, let alone remove from the cabinet.
Thanks
Jeff
Jeff,
If the granite tops were properly installed, they cannot be removed without breaking them. They should have been glues to a plywood substrate with either liquid nails, PL Plremium, or silicone. The joint between the 2 pieces was epoxied together. Unless you use a thin diamond blade, you aren't getting them apart. But then you'll have a missing kerf of granite to deal with.
