Your Chicken Coop Projects
We gathered our favorite chicken coops from all over the Web. In response, TOH fans shared photos of some seriously impressive structures. Check them out!
Over the past few years, we've seen the popularity of backyard chicken coops skyrocket. There were so many requests for tutorials that Tom Silva eventually built one to share with fans.
The trend shows no signs of slowing down. Here are a few amazing chicken coop projects that TOH fans shared over on Facebook. Shown above, Cathy M.'s husband built a beautiful "farmhouse" for their feathered friends. Mr. M is obviously very skilled, as he "built it from just a picture."
NOTE: Before you add a chicken coop, make sure you check local guidelines on adding structures to your lot.
Facebook fan Mike Y. wrote, "We made a tractor-style coop. Our birds free range all day then shack up at night."
TOH fan Jean Z. designed this for clients in Seattle. "It has a two-tier chicken run, is impenetrable, reflects the design of the home, and makes for super happy chickens!" she wrote.
We love this vibrant structure by Facebook fan Betty H. "I built this chicken house a few years ago after a trip to the feed store and returning home with boxes full of baby chicks," she wrote. "The chicks were supposed to lay multi-colored eggs when they grew up so I wanted a Dr. Seuss-style house. I didn't have a truck so I hauled most of the lumber in my Miata Convertible. Fun for an old lady."
