We own a Dutch Revival built in 1920's, in WNY area. We are finally getting to our upstairs bathroom. Part of what sold me was this bathroom still had the original hexagon tile floor and wonderful pedestal tub. I love soaking on cold winter nights.
We want to keep the tub - still in great shape - no rust etc and the floor. I am praying that the tiles under the oversized 1960's vanity are still there and in good shape.
We do need to get rid of the "formica coated wallboard" and plan to install subway tile. My concern is moving the tub once we have all the plumbing fixtures removed and not damaging the floor.
I have searched and found lots of posts on moving clawfoot tubs, but nothing on pedestals. Has anyone done this ? I am hoping - again - that once we cut through the caulk at the floor base with
some help from "friends and family we can slide it on to some cardboard and slide it out of the way?
Love to hear from anyone whose "been there ..done that"
