Pet Hair Picker-Uppers
Now’s the time when dogs and cats drop their winter coats, and the fur can really start to fly. Fortunately, there are new tools to control the mess, wherever it winds up
This wedge-shaped tool (left) is designed to get into crevices and cushion seams, picking up fine fur on its bristled side and coarser coats’ leavings with its spiked side. Pet hair lifts right off the head, which can be rinsed clean in the kitchen sink.
Casabella Pet Hair Remover, $7.95;
With this tool’s (center) self-cleaning head, you don’t touch a single furry bit. With the pad extended, pull the tool toward you. When the pad is full, retract it into the base, where bristles lift off the fur; open the hatch to drop the mess into a trash can.
OXO FurLifter Carpet Rake, $35;
This extra-large sticky roller (right) picks up everything. It’s perfect for grabbing fur clumped around baseboards or trapped in hard-to-reach spots. Just peel off and toss the used sheet, then collapse the extension handle to hang for storage.
Evercare Mega Lint Roller, $13 (refills, $9.98);
