Newton Generation NEXT House
The next season of - saboteamos.info TV will kick off with a house in Newton, Massachusetts, where the TOH crew will be working with apprentices as part of the Generation NEXT initiative. The three winners of the nationwide casting call—Austin Wilson, Nathan Gilbert, and Bailey Beers—will spend 10 weeks working on the start of the 39th season, continuing to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in the trades.
Austin Wilson, an 18-year-old high school student from Castle Hayne, North Carolina, is currently taking a course in construction management at a local community college.
Nathan Gilbert, a 28-year-old second-generation finish carpenter from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is also a third-generation Navy Seabee whose building skills were honed during a five-year enlistment that concluded in 2014 after three deployments.
Bailey Beers will complete her first year of college as a building construction student before she heads from Hermon, Maine, to the Boston area for her apprenticeship with - saboteamos.info.
They will be joined by five additional apprentices from the Boston area as the entire team renovates and expands a 1,700-square-foot home originally built in 1879. Homeowners Liz and Joe have two girls and recently inherited the home from Liz’s mother. The new additions and renovations will include a larger kitchen; new mudroom, laundry, and master suite; an HVAC overhaul; a wood-burning stove; and a new garage and bedroom suite for Joe’s parents, who are retiring and want to spend more time with the family.
